Generationengespräch mit dem KZ-Überlebenden Marian Hawling und seiner Familie (englischsprachig).
Concentration camp survivor Marian Hawling and family members talk about passing on the memory in their family. Marian Hawling, born in Poland, resisted National Socialist Germany actively in various European countries. After being arrested, he was imprisoned in several concentration camps and survived the bombing of the prisoner’s ship Cap Arcona in Lübeck Bay on May 3, 1945. He emigrated to Australia and did not talk about his imprisonment for decades, not even with his loved ones.
Together with his wife Elizabeth and son Mark, Marian Hawling will speak about why it took him so long to talk and how and why he decided to finally pass on the memory. The talk will be in English only.
