Report on the commoration of the 77th anniversary of liberation

This year, together with the Amicale Internationale KZ Neuengamme, the Foundation was again able to invite people to events to mark the anniversary of the liberation on site at the Neuengamme concentration camp memorial. In recent years, to our great regret, we had been unable to hold any commemorative events (2020) or welcome guests to Hamburg (2021) due to the Corona pandemic. To mark the occasion of the anniversary of the end of the war and the liberation of the concentration camps, a whole series of events took place at the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial in addition to the central commemoration ceremony on 3 May 2022. Call for Participation: Looking Back, Around and Ahead – 40 Years of International Workcamps

It has been three years since the last analogue international work camp at the Neuengamme concentration camp memorial. This year, the camp, which is traditionally held annually, will once again take place in analogue form. We hope for participants from many countries. Read more

Teresa Stiland has died

It is with great sadness that we learned that our friend Teresa Stiland passed away yesterday in Paris. Teresa Stiland was born Matla Rozenberg in 1925 into a Jewish family in Częstochowa, Poland. She was 14 years old when German troops occupied Łódź, where she lived with her grandparents. Matla managed to survive the Litzmannstadt/Łódź ghetto; her relatives died in the ghettos or were murdered in Treblinka. Read more
