Vocational Schools and Professional Schools

Educational programmes for vocational schools and professional groups depend on the duration and therefore the in-depth nature of the visit to the Memorial Site. They can be booked as a six- or seven-hour Study Day or, in an extended format, as a two-day or multi-day offer.

The persons belonging to professional groups or attending vocational schools are given an overview of the history of the Neuengamme Concentration Camp that includes an introduction, an accompanied visit of the main exhibition and a walking tour to various stations at the former prisoner camp and the sites of the former Arbeitskommandos (work details) as well as the Haus des Gedenkens. This is followed by a more in-depth look at one main topic and at specific questions in small groups, held at the Centre for Historical Studies or the Open Archive. It includes profession-related aspects that may result from the visit and study of the historical site. The Nazi era practices of various institutions and how those practices were addressed after 1945 are part of the multi-day study programmes.
