A small exhibition with pictures from Atelier Freistil was opened yesterday in the cafeteria of the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial
Atelier Freistil is a cooperation between the Elbe-Werkstätten GmbH and “Leben mit Behinderung (Living with a disability) Hamburg” and offers space for creative work and artistic exchange. Four large-format pictures can now be seen in the cafeteria of the main exhibition. The exhibition was opened in the presence of the artists.
Visitors of the main exhibition at the Concentration Camp Memorial have the opportunity to stop for a short time in the cafeteria and to reflect upon what they have seen so far in a friendly atmosphere. The cafeteria is also operated by the Elbe-Werkstätten, one of the largest employers for people with disabilities in Germany. The cafeteria has existed since the end of 2015 and now offers a small range of snacks and drinks for its visitors.
