Hello, I’m Daniel and I will be an Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste (ASF) volunteer here at the Neuengamme memorial over the next year (September 2021 – August 2022).

I grew up in rural England, surrounded by cows before leaving home to study for my Bachelors degree in theology at the University of Nottingham. After three years I then moved to Belgium to complete my Masters (again in theology)! While finishing my Masters I was accepted to become an ASF volunteer, working in a combined project, primarily here at Neuengamme but also at the "Solidarische Hilfe im Alter". I’m looking forward to my time here at the memorial over the coming year and I’m sure that I have much to discover and learn while I am here.
