Visiting the Memorials in Times of the Coronavirus

Please note: The exhibitions at Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, Bullenhuser Damm Memorial, Fuhlsbüttel Memorial and Poppenbüttel Memorial are closed until 7th March 2021 due to a nation-wide decision by the Federal and State Governments in an effort to contain the Coronavirus pandemic.

Please check our calendar of events for the latest information on our events. Some events will be take place digitally.

While the grounds of the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial are accessible, please be aware that the public sanitary facilities are also closed.

The Info-Pavillion at the denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof is closed from 2 November, and will re-open in April 2021.

The following hygiene and social distancing requirements as decreed by the Hamburg Senate apply to events

  • Please keep a minimum distance of 1.50 m - members of joint households are excluded.
  • Please wear your mask over your mouth and nose.
  • When attending events, we are required to collect your contact information and provide it to the appropriate (health) authority upon request. Your data will be deleted after the mandatory data retention period of 4 weeks.

The requirements to minimize contact in accordance with the Regulations of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to contain the spread of COVID-19 from June 30, 2020 as well as the Regulation to change Hamburg’s SARS-CoV-2 containment policy from Fevruary 11, 2021 apply.
