New rules for visiting the memorials of the Foundation as of October

Our memorial sites are open. Please note the different rules when visiting.

When visiting the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, the Bullenhuser Damm Memorial and the Poppenbüttel Memorial, the following arrangements relating to limiting of contact and the keeping of distance apply:

  • Please keep a minimum of 1.5 metre distance from others (with the exception of those from your own household)
  • Please wear a medicinal face mask in the exhibitions (an FFP2 mask)
  • We are required to collect your contact details and for these to be made available to the relevant (health)authorities on request. Your details will be deleted after the prescribed 4 week retention period. You can register on site directly with the Luca app. There is also, however the possibility to record your details manually on site without the use of the Luca app.

Group tours for the Neuengamme concentration camp memorial and the Bullenhuser Damm memorial are available to be booked in advance. Please observe the special rules for a group visit within the framework of educational visits (namely the so-called 3G rule).

We will offer visits to the Fuhlsbüttel memorial and the Infopavillon denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof from the 1st October 2021 according to the 2G model (Please note: The infopavillon is closed from November, 1st). This means that a visit is only possible for those who are vaccinated and those who have recently recovered from COVID-19. The requirement to wear a mask and the capacity limit will no longer apply for these two exhibitions. Group tours of these two places are now available again to be booked in advance.

Please inform yourself of the current events in our events calendar. Please note that for events in closed rooms admission will only be granted if proof of vaccination, a proof of recovery or a negative coronavirus test is presented (3G model). You are also welcome to make use of our digital offerings.

The contact restriction requirements according to the ordinance of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for the limiting of the spread of coronavirus from 30th June 2020 as well as the ordinance on the change to the Hamburg SARS-CoV-2 limitation ordinance from 25th September 2021 (see https://www.hamburg.de/verordnung [in German])
