5-hour guided visit to the main exhibition and another exhibition and exploration of a large part of the grounds of the former concentration camp, combined with individual work under the direction of experienced museum educators in the centre for historical studies and the Open Archive.
In order to take part in a project day at the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, participants must have basic knowledge of the history of National Socialism and the concentration camps as well as an interest in investigating the history of the Neuengamme concentration camp in detail.
Project days include visits to the exhibitions and an exploration of the grounds. Additionally, in the centre for historical studies, the Open Archive and the library, there are photos, documents, films, books and other materials available for work in small groups on a selected topic. The results of this work can be presented and discussed.
Project days focus on a particular topic. There are a large number of prepared project days which can be booked at short notice. Other project days can be arranged upon request. Please contact the following Neuengamme memorial employees to discuss your needs:
Dr. Iris Groschek (museum studies, tel.: +49 40 - 4 28 13 15 21) and
Dr. Oliver von Wrochem (centre for historical studies, tel.: +49 40 - 4 28 13 15 15).
When you register through the Museumsdienst, project days cost in foreign languages is € 45 for schools (reduced rate), € 75 for other groups.
